Atlanta, Georgia (12 June
2001) – SGI® Testing Services, LLC, a newly formed Georgia based
limited liability company, is announcing that it has acquired the GeoSyntec-SGI®
Testing Laboratory from GeoSyntec Consultants, Inc., a Florida based company on
1 June 2001. The testing laboratory
will operate under the new name of SGI® Testing Services, LLC and
will remain in its current location at 5775 Peachtree Dunwoody Road, Suite 11D,
Atlanta, Georgia 30342.
The principal members of SGI® are Robert H. Swan, Jr.
and Zehong Yuan, Ph.D., P.E., the former laboratory manager and program
manager, respectively, of the GeoSyntec-SGI testing laboratory. GeoSyntec Consultants employed Mr. Swan
since 1987 and Dr. Yuan since 1990. During that time both played an integral part in the development
of the SGI® laboratory into the world-class operation that it is
today, specializing in Soil and Geosynthetic Interaction system performance and evaluation. They are the Interaction
Specialists®.
